Design proposal for the outdoor plaza area of Southern Bell Headquarters on West Peachtree Street in Atlanta, Georgia. Bronze sculpture of a falcon facing west, encompasses the states served by Southern Bell – namely North and South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida with the Bell logo centered on Atlanta. The sculptural piece is nestled and framed within a towering granite gateway which cantilevers out and tapers in toward the top at angles duplicating the entry level of the headquarters building. The slogan for Southern Bell: “Gateway to the Information Age”. Presentation of the design proposal to Southern Bell received complimentary feedback but ultimately the project was not realized.
